Job Purpose

AkzoNobel is a global leader in paints and coatings, operating in over 150 countries with a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. Our Digital Transformation Team is a pioneering unit functioning like a start-up within the company with a strong business case to curate these capabilities in Pune, India. We aim to transform one-third of our workforce (10,000 FTEs) into digitally fluent professionals, transition 10 billion in revenue through digital channels, and accelerate growth through next-generation platforms such as Web 2.0, Lead Management, CRM 2.0, eCommerce, and Order Management. This team combines platform innovation, process redesign, and human adoption to deliver measurable impact at scale.

Joining the Digital Transformation team would place you at the heart of driving commercial digital excellence and strategic initiatives. As an Expert, you will shape the future of digital activation/ adoption by driving quality governance, technical excellence, and strategic improvements. You will lead demand planning, manage priorities, and act as a trusted advisor for complex digital initiatives. This role may include indirect managerial responsibilities as the size of the team is expected to grow significantly in 2026

Key Activities

  • Lead strategic planning and prioritization for large-scale, high-impact digital initiatives for maximum business impact and team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams across the globe and across business units to maximize the impact of their (digital) marketing campaigns.
  • Serve as the owner of quality standards and governance act as enterprise-wide gatekeeper ensuring full compliance with global regulatory and internal frameworks across all digital platforms.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in digital service delivery harness advanced analytics, automation, AI, and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, performance, and competitive advantage.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and building lasting organizational digital capability and fluency.
  • Partner closely with IT, product, engineering, and business units to co-design scalable, future-proof solutions that align with enterprise architecture and long-term strategic objectives.

Experience

  • 5-7 years in digital marketing or commercial operations.
  • Proven track record in quality governance and process improvement.
  • Strategic mindset with strong advisory skills.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects and driving adoption of digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication and comprehension skills, ability to engage with stakeholders from different BUs, across the globe.
  • Expertise in digital platforms (e.g., GA4, GTM, AEM, Contentful, CRM tools like HubSpot/ Salesforce) and AI-driven marketing tools.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies (PI planning, sprints), queue systems (Jira), and quality frameworks (ITIL, Six Sigma basics).
  • Strong in data analytics for commercial insights (SQL, attribution modeling).
  • Experience in Google Analytics/Marketing, Agile/Scrum Master, or Digital Marketing Institute credentials.
  • Familiarity with global compliance standards and change management practices.
