Introduction Digital Presence Platform & Solutions (DPPS) is a part of Roche Digital Technology (RDT) and provides the foundational capabilities for Roche's global internet ecosystem - encompassing web content publication, social media integration, external content repositories and web domains management. While the development and operations of individual, use case specific solutions remains decentralized, DPPS team provides a common layer that is being leveraged by business facing IT teams, in order to drive consistency and avoid duplication. As a Digital Presence Platform Reliability Engineer, you will lead the evolution of our Platform Toolchain. You will be responsible for engineering tools supporting maintenance of our platforms as well as applications hosted upon them. Ensuring they are robust, scalable, and secure. Your mission is to deliver a world-class Developer Experience and platform stability through advanced automation, AI, deep observability and baked-in compliance.
The Opportunity:
Lead Toolchain Evolution: Autonomously lead the evolution of the Digital Presence Platforms toolchain by applying state-of-the-art practices and defining the roadmap and implementation strategy.
Drive DevSecOps Principles: Abstract complexity across domains by applying DevSecOps principles and providing robust self-service tools for platform and application teams.
Architect Reliability Solutions: Lead the end-to-end design, build, and implementation of reliability, observability, self-service, and advanced automation solutions.
Partner for Velocity: Partner closely with platform and application teams to optimize service reliability and accelerate application development velocity.
Deploy AI-Powered Operations: Design and implement robust monitoring and AIOps solutions to proactively detect anomalies, predict capacity constraints, and enable self-healing capabilities.
Manage Key Initiatives: Lead small-to-medium technical teams on key initiatives, solving complex, interdisciplinary problems across the whole Digital Presence Platforms area.
Ensure Framework Compliance: Align all technical designs and solutions with internal Quality, Security, and Technical Architecture Framework (TAF) policies.
Coordinate Global Dependencies: Manage complex issues and variable factors across different organizational boundaries while coordinating multiple teams and moving parts.
Who you are:
Educated Professional: You hold a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Experienced Technical Leader: You bring 7+ years of progressive infrastructure experience, with a proven track record of leading geo-distributed teams through influence and mentorship.
Core Domain Expert: You possess extensive technical expertise with in-depth knowledge in at least two domains, such as Site/Service Reliability Engineering, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, or Cloud Architecture.
Automation & AI Innovator: You are highly skilled in leveraging AI tools and scripting languages to systematically eliminate manual tasks and drive self-healing automated operations.
Systems & Observability Proficient: You are familiar with containerization, major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and observability tools like DataDog, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
Agile Strategy Practitioner: You possess hands-on experience applying design thinking, lean practices, and Scrum/Agile methodologies to define, prioritize, and execute strategic roadmaps.
Strategic Communicator & Analyst: You excel at transforming customer and developer needs into specific technical requirements and translating complex technical issues into non-technical terms for business leaders.
