This Position reports to:
Digital Platform Operations SpecialistABB's Process Automation business area enables customers to operate some of the world's largest and most complex industrial infrastructures, helping them outrun - leaner and cleaner. We offer a broad range of automation, electrification and digital solutions for process, hybrid and maritime industries, including industry-specific integrated control and software as well as measurement and analytics solutions and services.
In this role, we are looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer - Digital Platform Operations Specialist to join our Industrial Automation Digital Organization. The role requires an individual with strong hands-on experience supporting cloud-native applications hosted on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in production operations, containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, and supporting edge deployments in hybrid cloud ecosystems. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise-grade cloud applications while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

You will be mainly accountable for:
. Operate, monitor, and support cloud-native applications hosted on Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
. Manage and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes platforms, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), across development and production environments.
. Handle production operations activities including incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), problem resolution, and performance optimization to maintain service continuity.
. Support edge deployments by troubleshooting connectivity issues, validating data flows, and ensuring system stability across hybrid cloud and edge environments.
. Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively detect, analyze, and resolve operational issues in cloud and edge platforms.
. Perform application deployments, platform upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes while adhering to operational best practices and change management processes.
. Collaborate closely with Development, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams to ensure smooth release execution and operational readiness.
. Ensure compliance with security standards, access management controls, and organizational policies to maintain secure and resilient cloud operations.
. Participate in on-call rotations and provide operational support as required to ensure timely response and resolution of critical incidents.
. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities, enhancing operational processes, and promoting platform reliability and efficiency.
. 4-8 years of experience in cloud operations, production support, site reliability engineering, or related roles supporting enterprise cloud applications.
. Strong understanding of cloud computing principles with hands-on experience supporting solutions hosted on Microsoft Azure.
. Proven experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments, with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) experience considered advantageous.
. Solid experience providing operational support for cloud-based applications, including incident management, troubleshooting, and service restoration.
. Good knowledge of Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, and systematic troubleshooting techniques.
. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release management processes, and supporting continuous delivery practices.
. Exposure to edge computing environments and hybrid architectures integrating on-premises and cloud-based systems.
. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools involving logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerting capabilities to support proactive operations management.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
. Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts, methodologies, and supporting technologies.
. Exposure to AI-driven monitoring, analytics, automation, or intelligent operational support tools.
. Awareness of AI applications in operations management, observability platforms, predictive maintenance, and proactive issue detection.
. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps practices, and cloud automation frameworks is considered advantageous.
. Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or equivalent certifications are desirable.
. Experience supporting industrial digital platforms within manufacturing, energy, marine, process industries, or similar sectors is an added advantage.
