The Digital Fundraiser will be responsible for planning and executing online fundraising strategies to mobilise resources through digital platforms. The role focuses on donor acquisition, engagement, and retention using digital campaigns, social media, crowdfunding, email marketing, and online partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Fundraising & Campaign Management
- Design, plan, and execute digital fundraising campaigns across platforms such as websites, crowdfunding portals, social media, and email.
- Manage fundraising campaigns for emergencies, events, and regular giving programmes.
- Monitor campaign performance and optimise strategies to improve donor conversion and retention.
Donor Engagement & Communication
- Create compelling digital content (stories, visuals, videos, impact updates) to engage donors.
- Manage donor communication through email newsletters, WhatsApp campaigns, and social media.
- Ensure timely donor acknowledgements, thank-you messages, and impact reports.
Platform & Tool Management
- Manage online fundraising tools, CRM systems, payment gateways, and donor databases.
- Coordinate with IT/website teams to ensure smooth donation journeys.
- Ensure data accuracy, donor privacy, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Partnerships & Collaboration
- Liaise with digital platforms, influencers, corporate partners, and agencies for online fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate with programme and communications teams to gather stories, data, and visuals.
Reporting & Compliance
- Track and report fundraising performance, donor trends, and ROI.
- Ensure compliance with FCRA (if applicable), data protection laws, and internal policies.
- Support audits and donor due diligence processes when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Social Work, Management, or related field.
- 25 years of experience in digital fundraising in an NGO.
- Proven experience in managing online fundraising campaigns or crowdfunding platforms.
Skill & Competencies
- Strong understanding of digital fundraising tools and platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create donor-centric, impact-driven content.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and reports.
- Good project management and coordination skills.
- Passion for social impact and NGO work.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, Donorbox, GiveIndia, Razorpay, etc.).
- Knowledge of SEO, Google Ads for NGOs, and social media advertising.
- Understanding of FCRA and NGO compliance (India context).
