Digital Design Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Design and develop digital logic circuits, including signal chain, clocking, fault and interrupt handlers, memory management, and FPGA integration
• Write and maintain RTL microarchitectures and modules using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog
• Develop constraints and synthesis scripts, and support timing closure in collaboration with the physical design team

Validation & Debugging

• Handle Design Quality Checks including lint, CDC, and RDC
• Support design verification (DV), test plan development, silicon debug, and root cause analysis
• Provide design debugs and workaround support to DV and silicon validation teams
• Sign off on waivers and review verification coverage

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with analog, firmware, and system design teams to ensure system-level integration
• Review specifications, identify gaps, and support issue resolution
• Conduct design and architecture reviews and prepare detailed design documentation
• Collaborate with the EDA team to improve design tools and flows
• Provide guidance and support to team members and help improve team productivity

Customer & Application Support

• Interact with Test, Silicon Validation, and Application Engineering teams to support successful deployment
• Assist in debugging customer applications and product-related issues

Basic Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in digital design and basic electrical/electronics engineering concepts
• Proficient in RTL coding and microarchitecture development
• Experience with Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog
• Familiarity with lint, CDC, RDC, constraint development, and synthesis
• Good understanding of digital timing analysis and closure
• Proficiency with simulation tools (preferably Cadence)
• Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation abilities
• Team player with strong collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of audio signal chain, I2C, ASI/TDM, memory architecture, and FPGA design
• Experience in silicon debug and validation
• Exposure to audio systems and signal processing
• 3 years of relevant experience in a digital design or SoC environment
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and handle multiple tasks effectively
• Self-driven with a focus on results, innovation, and continuous improvement
