Position

The Tibet Action Institute is looking for a dedicated and dynamic individual to step into the role of Digital Security Ambassador, taking over the leadership and management of the TibCERT Incident Response team from an outgoing member. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys traveling, engaging with people, and building strong relationships across diverse communities, while also possessing a deep interest in digital security and online safety.

As a Digital Security Ambassador, you will play a key role in strengthening the digital resilience of Tibetan communities. Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective incident response support to TibCERT members facing digital security threats, while actively building the capacity of hub volunteers to deliver high-quality response services independently.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update digital security policies and best practices for TibCERT member organizations, ensuring they are equipped to mitigate risks and respond to emerging threats.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with TibCERT member organizations by understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored digital security solutions.
  • Expand the TibCERT network by identifying, engaging, and recruiting new member organizations within the Tibetan exile community in Dharamsala.
  • Act as a representative of Tibet Action Institute, upholding its mission and values while engaging with community members, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in structured training programs to strengthen your own capacity in delivering digital security education, and apply this knowledge to support both new and existing TibCERT members.
  • Provide continuous mentorship, follow-up support, and refresher training to participants, ensuring long-term adoption of secure digital practices.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field, or a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in technology or digital security.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage, collaborate, and build lasting relationships with individuals, community groups, and fellow team members within the Tibet Action Institute.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken), along with strong spoken proficiency in Tibetan, enabling effective communication across diverse audiences.
  • A demonstrated passion for and commitment to the Tibetan cause, with a genuine interest in contributing to the broader Tibet movement.
