Dialysis Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Dialysis Procedure Management:

• Prepare the dialysis machine and necessary equipment before treatment.
• Connect and disconnect patients to/from the dialysis machine using proper techniques.
• Monitor and record patient vitals, fluid removal rates, and dialysis parameters.
• Identify and respond to complications during the procedure (e.g., hypotension, cramps, clotting).

Patient Care:

• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care and education.
• Ensure patient comfort, safety, and dignity throughout the dialysis session.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment process and any concerns.

Equipment Handling & Maintenance:

• Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain dialysis machines and water treatment units.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed during all procedures.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of each dialysis session, including machine settings, time, and patient response.
• Report any abnormalities or complications to the physician or nursing supervisor immediately.
• Record and track inventory of consumables and report shortages.

Quality & Compliance:

• Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and hygiene regulations.
• Participate in training programs and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Comply with health authority and accreditation guidelines (e.g., NABH, ISO if applicable).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma / Certificate in Dialysis Technology (recognized institution).
• 1–3 years of experience in a dialysis unit (preferred).
• Knowledge of dialysis machines, water treatment systems, and emergency handling.
• Basic understanding of human anatomy, renal physiology, and infection control.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Physical stamina and attention to detail.
