Role Overview
We are seeking for a dynamic and result oriented Deputy General Manager (DGM) / General Manager (GM) for Sales & Business Development. You will be a core member of the sales leadership team and work closely with leadership to drive revenues, profitability, deep customer relationship, grooming young sales colleagues etc. Beyond sales and customer success, you will play a pivotal role in strategy formulation, business planning / annual operating planning etc.
This is a critical sales leadership role balancing growth, resilience and governance to make Vecmocon a global EV leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue & Order Book Management
- Own and deliver regional revenue targets (monthly, quarterly, annual) and order book goals aligned to national sales strategy.
- Ensure accurate pipeline forecasting, funnel health, and revenue predictability.
- Customer Acquisition & Key Account Management
- Drive new customer acquisition across Vehicle OEMs, Battery Manufactures, fleet operators etc. especially in North India
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with Top 5 OEMs, ensuring conversions via POs, LOIs, and paid PoCs.
- Lead contract negotiations (GPA/MSA) and ensure clearances for AR & RGP in a timely manner.
- Strategic Growth & Market Leadership
- Co-create & drive the business growth strategy and also AOP
- Expand footprint with top OEMs as well as unorganized segment in India and subsequently in global markets (especially North India to begin with)
- Build strategic alliances and partnerships
- Strengthen competitive intelligence to stay ahead of global EV players.
- Leadership Partnership
- Act as a trusted partner to the company leadership for shaping company strategy and execution.
- Anchor cross-functional alignment across business, product, R&D, operations, and finance on specific topics.
- Support the vision-to-execution journey, scaling vision into organizational reality.
- Customer Relationship
- Leverage on the past professional network / relationship and win new accounts for the company
- Build deep, long lasting and value creating relationship with key stakeholders at the customer
- People & Organization Development
- Support in identifying key talent and design development plans for leadership pipeline.
- Shape a high-performance culture & teams around accountability, innovation, and learning.
- Projects of high organizational importance
- Lead / support topics which are of high organizational importance to co-create the Vecmocon future
Key Qualifications & Experience
- 10 to 15 years of business leadership in automotive (EV preferred)
- Prior experience of working at Top Tier 1 (preferred) or Top OEM
- Proven success in growing the top line
- Strong understanding of sales, operations, contracts, and risk frameworks.
- Relationships with OEMs and EV ecosystem players.
- MBA from a top institution preferred with engineering/technical background.
