Job Description

Summary

You will join Guidewire's Professional Services team, a global group that partners with P&C insurers to deliver successful Guidewire Cloud implementations and unlock measurable business value. Guidewire provides outstanding software for the second-largest financial services industry in the world: insurance. We deliver the core applications that Property and Casualty (P/C) insurers use to build their products, sell policies, settle claims, and bill their customers. We deliver SaaS solutions via Guidewire Cloud that enable our customers to rapidly innovate and drive measurable value.

As a DevOps Senior Consultant, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing how businesses leverage cloud technologies. We are seeking talented individuals to join our innovative team, where your expertise will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing robust cloud solutions.

Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Build the Foundation: Develop and evolve our Multi-Tenant Cloud Platform, specifically focusing on our hybrid-tenancy model to balance isolation and efficiency.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive the design and development of ProfessionalService delivery using Guidewire Cloud Platform built on top of EKS (Kubernetes),
  • Terraform, and Golang.
  • Platform Services: Build high-performance services for Developer Experience, AuthN/AuthZ, and Service Mesh using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Application Delivery Orchestration: Deploy applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Observability & Reliability: Implement advanced observability patterns (Logs, Metrics, Traces) to ensure the health of massive-scale distributed systems.
  • Code Excellence: Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming to maintain a quality-first engineering culture.
  • CI/CD Leadership: Automate everything. Deploy containerized microservices to AWS using robust, modern CI/CD pipelines.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical Versatility: Senior-level proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python. You should be comfortable switching contexts between application logic and infrastructure logic.
  • Cloud Native Mindset: Deep experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a production AWS environment.
  • Systems Thinker: You understand how to engineer for scalability, availability, and security—not just making it work.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A team-first advocate who thrives in agile, social environments and enjoys the knowledge-sharing aspect of pairing.
  • AI-Forward: A curiosity for leveraging AI tools (like Copilot or LLM integrations) to enhance developer productivity and system insights.

Education & Experience (Requirements)

  • Education: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of professional experience in a SaaS/PaaS environment, specifically supporting large-scale enterprise workloads.
  • Infrastructure Mastery: Proven track record with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
  • Advanced Orchestration: Hands-on experience with KubeVela and Crossplane for multi-cloud application delivery is highly preferred.
  • Environment: Strong command of the Linux ecosystem and distributed systems architecture.
