DevOps Manager

Key Responsibilities

DevOps & Infrastructure:

- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (declarative/scripted pipelines,

multibranch, shared libraries) and implement GitOps-based delivery with ArgoCD

(auto-sync, rollbacks, Helm/Kustomize integration)

- Deploy and orchestrate containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes

(StatefulSets, Deployments, Ingress, HPA, RBAC, network policies)

- Deploy production databases on Kubernetes using StatefulSets with master-slave

architecture:

PostgreSQL (streaming replication, PgBouncer, WAL archiving, PITR backups)

MongoDB (replica sets, sharding, oplog-based recovery)

Redis (Sentinel for HA, Redis Cluster, RDB/AOF persistence)

- Implement automated database backup strategies with scheduled jobs, offsite

storage (S3/Azure Blob), retention policies, and restore drills

- Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, VPC, EKS, IAM, S3, Route53) and/or

Azure (VMs, AKS, VNet, NSG, Blob Storage)

- Configure Linux networking: iptables/nftables rules, static/dynamic routing (ip

route), NAT/PAT, firewall policies, VLAN tagging

- Perform disk partitioning (LVM, fdisk, parted), filesystem management, RAID setup,

and storage capacity planning

- Write automation scripts in Shell (Bash) and Python for provisioning, deployments,

backups, and monitoring

- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible; set up monitoring with

Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack

DevOps Skills:

- Docker & Kubernetes: image builds, Compose, container networking, StatefulSets,

Helm charts, Ingress, RBAC, autoscaling, cluster troubleshooting

- CI/CD & GitOps: Jenkins (pipelines, shared libraries, webhooks, credentials), ArgoCD

(Git sync, rollbacks, multi-cluster, health checks), Git branching strategies

- Databases (deploy, replicate, backup, tune):

PostgreSQL — master-slave replication, PgBouncer, pg_dump/pg_basebackup,

PITR, query tuning

MongoDB — replica sets, sharding, mongodump/mongorestore, oplog recovery,

indexingRedis — Sentinel, Cluster, RDB/AOF persistence, eviction policies, pub/sub

- Shell Scripting: advanced Bash (loops, functions, error handling), log parsing, cron

jobs, systemd services; text processing with awk, sed, jq

- Python: infrastructure automation (Boto3, Azure SDK), API integrations,

backup/monitoring scripts, Jinja2 templating

- Cloud: AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, S3, ALB, Route53, CloudWatch) and/or Azure (AKS,

VNet, NSG, Key Vault, Azure Monitor)

- Networking: iptables (chains, NAT, DNAT/SNAT, port forwarding), ip route,

subnetting/CIDR, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing (L4/L7), VPN, troubleshooting

(traceroute, mtr, ss, tcpdump)

- Storage: LVM, fdisk/parted, ext4/xfs, fstab, RAID (mdadm), NFS

- IaC & Monitoring: Terraform (modules, state, workspaces), Ansible (playbooks,

roles, vault), Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, ELK/EFK

- Linux Admin: Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL, systemd, process management,

security hardening
