Job Description
Role: Ansible Automation and Platform Services Engineer
As an Ansible Automation and Platform Services Engineer, you will own the on-premises Ansible Automation Platform and
related services, including JFrog Artifactory, Xray, JFrog Advanced Security, SonarQube, PostgreSQL dependencies, and
supporting infrastructure. You will design and improve automation across Windows, Linux, virtual, and cloud environments while
partnering with the CI/CD and Bitbucket Cloud Engineer on delivery integrations.
Schedule and availability:
This role participates in scheduled Sunday deployment, patching, and maintenance support, generally between 8:00 AM and
12:00 PM US Eastern Time. Sunday work follows the deployment and maintenance calendar and is not required every week.
The role participates in a rotation supporting this window and occasional additional after-hours production changes.
Availability for at least four hours of overlap with US Eastern business hours is required for collaboration, change coordination,
and incident response.
Required qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least six years of progressive experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or systems engineering, with demonstrated
ownership of enterprise automation or configuration-management platforms.
• At least three years of hands-on Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform experience, including Automation Controller, Private
Automation Hub, Event-Driven Ansible, custom collections, execution environments, administration, upgrades, and
troubleshooting.
• Hands-on administration experience with JFrog Artifactory and Xray, or comparable artifact-management and security-scanning
platforms, including repository design, permissions, policies, retention, backups, recovery, and upgrades.
• Working PostgreSQL experience supporting connectivity, availability, backup and restore validation, recovery, upgrades,
capacity, and health monitoring with database or infrastructure teams.
• Strong systems-engineering foundation across Windows Server and Linux/RHEL, with the ability to write and support
automation for both.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Python, with working knowledge of shell scripting, YAML, JSON, and REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, risk management, change control, audit requirements, credential handling, and
production support practices.
• Ability to independently deliver outcomes, identify gaps and risks, design reusable automation within established direction, and
seek review before material platform, security, architectural, or production changes.
• Professional written and verbal English proficiency sufficient for technical discussion, documentation, and incident coordination
with US-based teams.
Preferred qualifications:
• Familiarity with Bitbucket Cloud, Bitbucket Pipelines, Bamboo Data Center, Git administration, repository permissions, branch
controls, webhooks, runners or agents, credentials, variables, artifacts, and pipeline-triggered automation.
• Familiarity with JFrog CLI, Frogbot, pull-request scanning, policies, watches, and software-supply-chain security workflows.
• Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes/K3S, including Podman or Docker, registries, certificates, and runtime
troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with pipeline-to-automation integrations involving webhooks, credentials, inventories, deployment inputs, artifact
flows, and Event-Driven Ansible.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure, infrastructure as code, virtualization, and enterprise monitoring or logging tools.
• Experience using approved AI-assisted tools or governed AI agents for automation, platform engineering, knowledge discovery,
or operational support.
Engagement requirements:
• Successful completion of background screening as required for access to enterprise systems.
• Ability to comply with data-handling, residency, privacy, and access-control requirements applicable to regulated enterprise
environments.
• Work performed from a secured, private workspace on approved equipment.
