The Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to own the foundational platform that orchestrates our entire trading infrastructure — from automated deployment pipelines and cloud architecture to real-time monitoring, exchange connectivity, and production reliability. This is not a maintenance role. You will design and build production critical systems where latency is measured in nanoseconds, downtime has direct financial consequences, and every deployment decision matters.
You will work closely with Quant Researchers, Devs & Trading engineers and firm leadership in a globally distributed team. If you have managed DevOps for a crypto trading firm and understand the full stack — from exchange API connectivity and market data pipelines to strategy deployment and infrastructure hardening — this role is built for you.
What We're Looking For
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Production DevOps experience at a crypto prop trading firm, HFT desk, or quantitative crypto fund — you must understand exchange connectivity, API rate limits, order routing infrastructure, market data normalization, funding rates, and the operational nuances of running trading systems against crypto exchanges 24/7
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps / SRE / Platform Infrastructure experience
- Deep understanding of low-latency systems, network optimization, and performance profiling in trading contexts
- Deep expertise in AWS — EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, IAM, CloudFront, Route53, CloudFormation — with a focus on latency optimization and cost-efficient scaling
- Kubernetes at production scale — cluster management, auto-scaling, Helm charts, service mesh, and container orchestration for distributed trading applications
- Strong CI/CD pipeline architecture — GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or GitLab CI — with experience building deployment workflows for production-critical trading systems
- Terraform / infrastructure-as-code fluency — you define infrastructure in code, version it, and deploy it deterministically
- Monitoring and observability — Grafana (primary), Prometheus, ELK — with real-time alerting and dashboarding tuned for trading operations
- Strong scripting — Bash, Python, Rust; familiarity with Go is a plus
- Security-first approach — secrets management, key rotation, IAM policies, network segmentation, server hardening
- Comfortable with on-call ownership and high-urgency incident response — crypto markets never close
Strong Plus
- Blockchain node management, RPC infrastructure, and validator operations
- Wallet infrastructure, HSM integration, or cryptographic key management systems
- Experience with real-time market data pipelines — WebSocket multiplexing, normalized feeds, tick-level data ingestion
- Database optimization — especially time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, QuestDB) for trading analytics
- Additional experience with TradFi / traditional exchange infrastructure — matching engines, FIX protocol, co-location, market data feeds from HKEX / TAIFEX / NSE / BSE etc — is a significant advantage
- Multi-region / disaster recovery architecture with automated failover
- Experience in a lean, globally distributed team operating at the pace of a startup with institutional-grade expectations

What You'll Do
- Support exchange connectivity and market data infrastructure — ensuring reliable, low-latency connections to centralized and decentralized venues across multiple geographies
- Measure, profile, and optimize latency across every layer — network hops, DNS resolution, WebSocket connections, cloud parameters — with quantifiable benchmarks
- Collaborate with quant researchers and trading engineers to deploy strategies to production with confidence — your infrastructure is the last mile between alpha and execution
- Design real-time monitoring dashboards and alerting systems (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) purpose-built for trading operations — covering exchange connectivity health, order flow, strategy performance, and system metrics
- Architect and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure — compute, networking, storage — with relentless focus on latency reduction and performance tuning
- Design, build, and own automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless, auditable deployment of trading systems across pre-prod and production environments
- Build and maintain production and pre-production deployment pipelines with zero-downtime releases, canary deployments, and rapid rollback capabilities
- Manage containerized trading infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) — ensuring resilience, scalability, and deterministic deployments
- Implement and enforce infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows
- Enforce security hardening across all systems — access controls, secrets management, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with institutional security standards
- Conduct regular infrastructure audits, generate system health reports, and maintain KPIs on uptime, latency, deployment frequency, and mean time to recovery
- Develop automation scripts and tooling (Bash, Python, Rust) for orchestration, deployment, configuration management, and incident remediation
- Improve developer experience around deployment, pipeline tooling, and infrastructure self-service for the engineering team
