DevOps Engineer

Core Responsibilities & Technical Requirements

• Build engineered and upgrade the RHEL systems.
• Perform advanced Linux troubleshooting using CLI tools and system logs.
• Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Develop and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks and Puppet modules.
• Write automation scripts using Bash and Python.
• Build Python-based automation for APIs, system integrations, and operational workflows.
• Configure and manage Apache Web Server in production environments.
• Support PHP and HTML applications including debugging and performance tuning.
• Administer and optimize MySQL databases (performance tuning, indexing, query analysis, backups).
• Manage Red Hat Satellite and Capsules in load-balanced enterprise environments.
• Perform OS patching, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Implement and enforce security best practices across Linux systems.
• Manage LVM configurations, disk provisioning, and SAN-attached storage.
• Configure and troubleshoot network bonding and storage connectivity.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues across application, OS, and infrastructure layers.
• Monitor systems using tools such as nmon, sar, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment automation pipelines.
• Work with Rundeck or similar orchestration tools (preferred).
• Support VMware-based virtualized environments.
• Work within OCI and GCP cloud environments to manage Linux workloads.
• Troubleshoot networking issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewalls.
• Participate in production incident response and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment reliability and automation.
• Maintain documentation for system architecture, automation workflows, and operational procedures.
• Administer and support enterprise Linux environments (RHEL, Oracle Linux, CentOS).

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience in enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of automation experience using Ansible and/or Puppet.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash required, Python highly preferred).
• Experience supporting production web and database environments.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
