Senior Platform Engineer (Experience: 7+ years)

Profile Summary:

The role of platform engineers is to design, build, run, and evolve tools, infrastructure, templates, and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value. They also write code that automates the operation of our infrastructure and environments.

Job Description:

Collaborate with customer-facing product engineers to design, build, and run platforms that enable delivery of customer value with higher quality, velocity, and safety. Develop software and tooling to automate platform, infrastructure, environment, and tooling operations. Create standardized tooling for deploying and managing applications following best practices. Maintain reliable, secure, and scalable underlying infrastructure. Ensure all platforms are self-service, secure, and available within minutes without human intervention. Strive to make platforms user-friendly and continually enhance them to incorporate new technologies, improving engineers happiness and efficiency. Develop automation scripts using languages like Python and Go to streamline deployment and operational processes, including control implementations within our platforms. Participate in cross-team initiatives to foster a unified culture, enhancing engineering capabilities and technological solutions aligned with our strategic goals.

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience with advanced knowledge in:
• Linux Administration
• Network Concepts
• Troubleshooting
• SSL, Encryption, Authentication
• Preferred tools: Ansible, Git, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, HashiCorp tools, Wireshark (or similar)
• Programming languages: Python (preferred), Go (optional)
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred) and containerization using Docker (optional)

Responsibilities:

• Work with product engineers to design, build, and operate platforms that enhance customer delivery.
• Develop standardized deployment and management tooling, following best practices.
• Maintain reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
• Automate platform operations using programming languages such as Python and Go.
• Ensure platforms are entirely self-service, secure, and quickly accessible.
• Engage in cross-team activities to raise engineering standards and technological solutions.
• Automate deployment and operational workflows, integrating controls into platforms to maximize automation.
