Job Description
About the Role We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 36 years of hands-on experience in managing Kubernetes clusters, automating deployments, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, cloud technologies (especially AWS), and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Kubernetes Management (Primary Responsibility)
a. Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure; GCP optional).
b. Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot workloads in Kubernetes (stateful and stateless).
c. Handle deployments of tools and applications such as NGINX, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, OpenCTI, OpenSearch, Kafka, Hadoop, Fluentd, etc.
2. Cloud Infrastructure Management
a. Strong expertise in AWS (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, etc.).
b. Exposure to Azure; GCP knowledge is a plus. c. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or equivalent in Azure) is a plus.
3. Database Management
a. Manage and maintain SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, on Kubernetes or virtual machines.
b. Perform regular backups, tuning, and monitoring for database performance and availability.
4. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
a. Proficient in Helm create, install, upgrade, and manage Helm charts.
b. Familiar with Terraform and Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
c. Understanding of using Ansible with AWS/Azure is advantageous.
5. Monitoring, Logging & Observability
a. Set up and manage monitoring and logging solutions.
b. Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos for metrics.
c. Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for logging (or equivalent open source tools).
6. Programming & Scripting
a. Proficiency in Node.js or Python for automation and scripting tasks (basic scripting knowledge sufficient).
b. Strong in Bash scripting able to write automation scripts using loops, conditionals, etc.
7. Customer Deployment & Ownership
a. Experience in on-premises deployments for customer environments.
b. Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, and cloud fundamentals.
c. Comfortable interacting with customers, understanding requirements, and taking full ownership of deployments.
8. CI/CD Implementation
a. Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation preferred.
b. Alternatively, hands-on experience with Jenkins or similar tools required.
9. Containerization & Orchestration
a. Solid understanding of Docker/Podman creating and managing containers, images, volumes, and docker-compose files.
Requirements
Required Skills
Kubernetes cluster management across cloud providers.
AWS expertise (Azure or GCP exposure a plus).
Helm, Terraform, and Ansible.
PostgreSQL or similar SQL database administration.
Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch).
Bash scripting, Node.js or Python programming.
Docker/Podman usage.
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Preferred / Nice to Have AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or equivalent).
Hands-on experience with customer on-prem deployments.
Familiarity with open-source observability stacks and multi-cloud management.
