Azure DevOps Engineer to own and mature our Azure DevOps platform, with a strong focus on CI/CD pipeline management, repository governance, and platform administration. This role is critical to enabling secure, reliable, and efficient software delivery across engineering teams.
You will act as both a technical expert and platform stewardensuring our pipelines are scalable and standardized, our repositories are well-governed, and our Azure DevOps environment is secure, performant, and aligned with enterprise best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
CI/CD Pipeline Management
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines
- Standardize pipeline templates and promote reusable patterns across teams
- Implement automated build, test, and deployment workflows
- Integrate security, quality, and compliance checks into pipelines
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and optimize performance and reliability
Repository & Source Control Management
- Administer and govern repositories in Azure Repos (Git)
- Define and enforce branching strategies, pull request policies, and code review standards
- Manage permissions, access controls, and repository organization
- Support teams with Git best practices and repository troubleshooting
Azure DevOps Platform Administration
- Administer and maintain the Azure DevOps organization, projects, and permissions
- Manage users, groups, service connections, agent pools, and extensions
- Ensure platform security, reliability, and availability
- Monitor usage, performance, and capacity of the Azure DevOps environment
Automation & Integration
- Automate administrative tasks using scripts and APIs where appropriate
- Integrate Azure DevOps with cloud platforms, artifact repositories, and monitoring tools
- Support artifact management and release processes
- Enable infrastructure and application teams to self-serve safely
Governance, Standards & Enablement
- Establish DevOps standards, documentation, and operational runbooks
- Promote best practices for CI/CD, version control, and platform usage
- Partner with security and compliance teams to meet enterprise requirements
- Serve as a trusted advisor to development and engineering teams
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- 47+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or platform engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience administering Azure DevOps
- Proven expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and management
- Solid understanding of Git-based source control and repository governance
- Experience managing permissions, service connections, and agent pools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple teams in a shared Azure DevOps environment
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and deployment patterns
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code concepts (e.g., Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
- Azure DevOps or Azure certifications
