Role Overview:
We are building a Ground Control Station (GCS) along with a mission-critical drone docking platform to handle real-time telemetry, video streaming, remote command execution, and autonomous control. The system is designed to operate across on-prem and cloud environments, supporting a flexible hybrid architecture. As a DevOps Engineer, you will manage and scale infrastructure across on-prem and cloud setups, ensuring seamless integration between the two. You will work closely with backend and systems teams to drive reliable development, deployment, and performance of both GCS and the docking platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and scale infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
- Configure and maintain servers, VMs, storage, networking, and security controls
- Ensure high availability, failover mechanisms, and overall system resilience
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend, frontend, and embedded systems
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and secure secrets management practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues in real-time, distributed systems
Skills Required:
- Strong experience with Linux system administration and scripting
- Hands-on experience with on-prem infrastructure or data center environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferably on-prem deployments)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) or similar approaches
- Monitoring, observability, and logging experience using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
- Experience designing or operating systems on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP); hybrid infrastructure experience is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 25 years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure roles; experience with real-time systems is a plus
- Experience with on-prem infrastructure or data center environments is required
- Experience with real-time systems or IoT platforms
Nice to Have:
- Experience with drone systems, robotics infrastructure, or real-time telemetry services
- Experience with OTA (Over-The-Air) deployments for remote or embedded systems
- Experience deploying hybrid edge-cloud architectures (e.g., combining local servers and cloud infrastructure)
