DevOps Engineer I

Aboutthe Role

As a DevOps Engineer I, you will support the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with senior engineers and developers to learn and contribute to development, deployment, and engineering operations. You will gain hands-on experience with automation, cloud technologies, and infrastructure as code.

Rolesand Responsibilities

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Assist in developing and maintaining infrastructure as code scripts and templates using tools suchas Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Follow versioncontrolpracticesfor infrastructure configurationsandsupportconsistentprovisioning

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):

  • Supportandmaintain CI/CD pipelines usingtoolslike Jenkins, GitHubActions, or GitLab CI/CD
  • Assist in automating testing, builds, and deploymentsto ensureefficientand reliable releaseprocesses

Cloud Management:

  • Assistin managingand monitoringcloud resources on AWS and/or GoogleCloud platforms
  • Support resource utilisationtrackingand help implement cost-effective solutions

MonitoringandAlerting:

  • Helpset up andmaintain monitoring systems(e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) toensuresystemperformanceand availability
  • Support alerting mechanisms for timely issue resolution

Security and Compliance:

  • Follow established best practices for cloud infrastructure and applicationsecurity
  • Support compliance with industry standards and regulations

Troubleshooting and Incident Response:

  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving infrastructureand deploymentissues
  • Participate in on-call rotation under guidance from senior engineers

Experience andQualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering role
  • Basic proficiency inatleast one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud computingplatforms(AWS orGCP)
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and basic understanding of orchestration(e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools
  • Exposure to Linux/Unix system administration
  • Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication abilities

Nice to Have

  • Anycloudcertification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Associate Cloud Engineer)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Contributions to open-source projects or personal infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with versioncontrol systems (Git)
  • Exposure to monitoringand logging tools
