DevOps Engineer - GCP

Designation: DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role sits at the

core of engineering operations, owning CI/CD pipelines, ensuring platform reliability, and

driving high-impact infrastructure initiatives.

You will play a critical role in maintaining system uptime, enabling developer productivity, and

leading complex technical migrations across a modern cloud-native stack.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Ownership

● Own and manage organization-wide CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

● Design, build, and maintain workflows for build, test, deployment, and release

automation

● Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and security (secrets, permissions, runners)

● Partner with engineering teams to onboard services into CI/CD frameworks

Platform & Infrastructure Operations

● Manage Kubernetes-based deployment ecosystems using Helm, ArgoCD, and

Crossplane

● Maintain Linux-based systems, VMs, networking, and access controls

● Monitor platform health and proactively address reliability issues

Large-Scale Infrastructure Initiatives

● Lead and execute high-impact projects such as database upgrades and system migrations

● Own planning, risk mitigation, testing, and rollout strategies

● Drive cross-team technical initiatives and modernization efforts

● Example: Managing upgrades and performance tuning for MySQL

Incident Response & System Debugging

● Act as the primary responder for production incidents and outages

● Perform deep debugging across CI/CD, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and databases

● Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and postmortem documentation

● Improve system resilience by closing reliability gaps

Application & Microservices Support

● Provide platform-level support for Java Microservices

● Assist with build, deployment, and runtime troubleshooting

● Optimize system performance and configuration

Backend Engineering & Architecture (Python)

● Design and prototype backend services using Python

● Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions

● Support engineering teams with scalable design patterns

Security & Reliability Engineering

● Conduct infrastructure and pipeline security reviews

● Identify vulnerabilities and implement best practices

● Support basic penetration testing and compliance readiness

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

● Strong experience in CI/CD (preferably GitHub Actions or similar)

● Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps tools (ArgoCD/Flux)

● Solid Linux/system administration skills

● Experience with database operations (preferably MySQL)

● Strong debugging and incident response capabilities

Good to Have

● Experience with Crossplane or infrastructure-as-code frameworks

● Familiarity with Java-based microservices environments

● Experience working with legacy systems and modernization initiatives
