Job Description

Overview

PepsiCo is seeking a highly motivated and skilled PepsiConnect DevOps Engineer to support and enhance our cloud-native platform capabilities. This role will be responsible for managing Azure infrastructure, source code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes (AKS) environments, and GitOps deployments using ArgoCD. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective platform operations while enabling rapid application delivery through automation and DevOps best practices.

The position will collaborate closely with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to drive infrastructure modernization, platform standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the PepsiConnect ecosystem. This role is critical in strengthening internal DevOps capabilities and reducing reliance on external vendors while supporting business-critical digital initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure to support PepsiConnect applications and services.
  • Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, access controls, and release processes using Azure DevOps and Git-based platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable secure and automated application deployments.
  • Deploy, administer, and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Implement and manage GitOps deployment practices using ArgoCD to ensure reliable and auditable releases.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep templates to automate infrastructure provisioning.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and availability using cloud-native monitoring and logging tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and platform-related issues to ensure operational stability.
  • Drive cloud governance, security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and operational best practices.
  • Analyze Azure resource utilization and implement cost optimization initiatives to improve cloud efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to support application delivery and platform modernization.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment standards, and operational procedures.
  • Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote DevOps best practices, automation, and operational excellence across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, or Platform Engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Git repositories, branching strategies, and release management.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with ArgoCD and GitOps deployment methodologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience with Azure networking, Application Gateway, Key Vault, and monitoring services.
  • Experience in cloud cost management and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Relevant Azure, Kubernetes, or DevOps certifications are a plus.
