Senior Engineer-DevOps AWS (4-10 years)-Core DevOps role

Note: This role is not in monitoring or SRE, Core DevOps experienced must apply.

Role purpose

As a Senior Engineer - DevOps, you will work with engineering teams to design, develop and maintain software required to meet business objectives. You'll work across a broad spectrum of systems to fulfil business requirements including, deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish & Maintain DevOps practices and automation for continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) throughout the product development lifecycle while building support for continuous testing and configuration management to enable zero downtime deployment

Collaborate with product team, professional support, engineering teams, development teams and security engineering teams to design, architect and implement solutions for continuous integration, testing, delivery and deployment.

Take a complete ownership of assigned modules and execute them to completion.

Automate build, test, and deployment for distributed, fault-tolerant infrastructure

Design and execute an Infrastructure as Code strategy to enable scalability and consistency

Influence, challenge, and defend technology decisions, not just execute static requirements.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

Experience in DevOps, build engineering, release management, automated software deployment practices, or software development.

Experience with design and configuration of continuous integration build system through collaboration with IT Development and Middle ware teams is preferred

Exposure to modern IT infrastructure (e.g. Docker swarm/Mesos/Kubernetes/Openstack)

Knowledge of elastic and highly available architectures

Exposure to Maven, Ant or Gradle for builds and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar related fields required.
