DevOps Engineer

Role overview :

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to maintain and upgrade Cloudera data platforms running on AWS, and support the data workloads they host. The role combines hands-on platform operations with planned version upgrades and migration work.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain Cloudera clusters and supporting infrastructure on AWS.
• Plan and deliver Cloudera and component upgrades, including compatibility assessment, validation, rollout, and rollback planning.
• Support Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and related distributed data services.
• Monitor cluster and AWS resource health, troubleshoot incidents, and improve service availability and performance.
• Automate deployments and routine operations using scripting, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Coordinate platform changes with data engineering and application teams.
• Maintain clear configuration records, upgrade procedures, and operational runbooks.

Qualifications :

• Hands-on experience maintaining Cloudera environments on AWS.
• Experience upgrading Cloudera platforms or migrating workloads to newer versions.
• Working knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and compatibility considerations across platform components.
• Experience with AWS services, Linux administration, scripting, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud networking.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a disciplined approach to production changes.

Preferred experience :

Experience planning and validating Cloudera upgrades, including workload testing, cutover coordination, and rollback readiness.
