About the Opportunity
Join Align Technology as a Senior DevOps Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in delivering world-class infrastructure that powers our API management platforms. This position requires strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with AWS and Apigee Hybrid deployments, and the ability to manage and automate critical systems that support hundreds of internal users.
Key Responsibilities
- Own deployment and maintenance of Apigee Hybrid in AWS China, ensuring zero-downtime upgrades and platform reliability.
- Provide on-call support for Apigee-related incidents and ensure system health monitoring and visibility.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enable a self-service API Gateway configuration model.
- Ensure all infrastructure-related processes are automated, documented, source-controlled, and cross-trained within the team.
- Contribute to the management of Apigee X Global SaaS API Gateway configurations and customizations.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Work with CI/CD tools to streamline and secure application deployments and infrastructure updates.
- Partner with global cross-functional teams to resolve complex integration and platform issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of DevOps experience, with 5+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS.
- 3+ years of leadership or ownership of DevOps projects including platform migrations, upgrades, and automations.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes orchestration tools and containerization (Docker).
- Practical experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and deployment best practices.
- Proficient in at least one programming language (Python preferred).
- Familiar with troubleshooting and maintaining third-party applications deployed in the cloud, including databases.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with a results-driven attitude.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X SaaS Gateway.
- Prior experience in support rotations, incident response, and high-availability systems.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
