Job Description
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, and operational workflows.
- Own system reliability, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, and security teams to improve platform resilience.
- Drive DevOps best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform engineers.
- Ensure operational compliance with security, governance, and organisational policies.
Responsibilities
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
- Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation acceptable).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Experience managing and supporting Apache Kafka in production environments.
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools, especially humio, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Experience administering PostgreSQL, MongoDB databases (performance tuning, backups, reliability).
- Strong Linux system administration skills.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Qualifications
Good to have skillset
- Experience with Kafka ecosystem tools (Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL).
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation.
- Familiarity with SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures.
- AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications.
- Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Agile/Scrum experience with strong stakeholder communication skills.
