The Impact you will have in this role:

We are seeking a seasonedAssociate Director - Technology Leadto provide hands‑on engineering leadership and delivery oversight acrossAppian (Low‑Code BPM), Talend (Data Integration), and SQL‑based data platforms. This role is critical to improvingrelease predictability, production stability, and engineering qualityacross globally distributed teams.

The successful candidate will combinedeep technical foundationswithexceptional leadership, delivery discipline, and stakeholder management. This role is accountable not only forwe build, butwe deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

This is a leadership role for someone who canset standards, enforce rigor, coach teams, and partner with business and technology stakeholdersto ensure scalable, resilient, and high-quality outcomes.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Technology & Engineering Leadership

  • Provideclear technical vision and strategic directionacross Appian, Talend, and SQL-based platforms.
  • Establish and enforcesolution architecture standards, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Serve as thesenior technical authority, reviewing designs and challenging solutions that introduce delivery, scalability, or operational risk.
  • Drive consistent adoption ofenterprise engineering principles, including modularity, reusability, performance, and security-by-design.

Delivery Excellence & Operational Rigor

  • Ownend‑to‑end delivery accountability, from solution design through development, testing, release, and production stabilization.
  • Address historical delivery issues by strengtheningrelease readiness, defect prevention, and root-cause remediation practices.
  • Implement and governSDLC controls, including design reviews, code quality standards, testing expectations, and production readiness criteria.
  • Actively managedelivery risk, dependencies, and cross-team coordination, particularly across globally distributed teams.
  • Ensure predictable delivery through strongplanning discipline, execution tracking, and escalation management.

Quality, Stability & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive aquality-first culture, prioritizing defect prevention over detection.
  • Partner with QA and DevOps teams to improvetest automation, CI/CD maturity, deployment reliability, and rollback strategies.
  • Analyze production issues and missed delivery commitments to identifysystemic gapsand implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Define and track engineering metrics (e.g., defect leakage, release stability, cycle time) tocontinuously improve delivery performance.

Platform & Domain Leadership

  • Lead and mentormulti-disciplinary, global engineering teams, including:
    • Appian BPM developers
    • Talend data integration engineers
    • SQL / data engineers
  • Provide technical leadership for:
    • Appian-based workflow, BPM, and low‑code solutions
    • Talend ETL / ELT pipelines and data integration architecture
    • SQL data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization for enterprise workloads
  • Ensure platform solutions arescalable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise data and integration standards.

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and leadhigh-performing engineering teamsthrough coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Set clear expectations for accountability, ownership, and engineering excellence.
  • Identify skill gaps and drive targetedupskilling across architecture, quality, and modern delivery practices.
  • Foster a culture ofcollaboration, transparency, and continuous learningacross geographies and functions.

Stakeholder & Enterprise Engagement

  • Act as atrusted technology partnerto product owners, business leaders, architects, and platform teams.
  • Translate business objectives intopractical, scalable technology solutionswith clear delivery commitments.
  • Provide concise, executive-ready communication ondelivery status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 12-15 years of technology experience, with5+ years in senior leadership rolesoverseeing enterprise delivery.
  • Proven success leadingcross-functional, globally distributed engineering teams.
  • Experience inlarge enterprise or financial services environments, with an appreciation for regulatory, risk, and operational controls

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Strong, hands-on experience withAppian BPMarchitecture and low-code development (L2 or L3 certification strongly preferred).
  • AppianL2 or L3 certificationpreferred.
  • Advanced expertise inSQL databases, including data modeling, performance tuning, data lineage, and governance considerations.
  • Proven experience producingHLDs and LLDs, and leading complex system and data integrations.
  • Solid understanding ofAPIs, microservices, and SaaS-based integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience withTalend or equivalent ETL/data integration platforms.
  • Practical experience implementingDevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation across enterprise platforms.
