Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging - but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build

As a development architect, you'll architect and deliver intelligent, distributed systems that power large-scale AI and large language model (LLM) capabilities across SAP's ecosystem. You'll take ideas from concept to production, building robust backend services, APIs, and data platforms that enable real-world, enterprise-grade AI applications.

You'll design and optimize systems across a modern technology stack, working with languages such as Go, Java, and Python, and technologies like Kafka, Postgres, HANA, and gRPC. Your work will directly impact how AI is embedded into SAP products, driving smarter automation, better decision-making, and enhanced customer experiences.

You'll tackle challenges around scalability, performance, and reliability while integrating advanced AI capabilities into enterprise environments. In parallel, you'll help define technical standards and mentor engineers, ensuring innovation translates into high-quality, production-ready systems.

What you bring

You bring deep technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and a track record of delivering complex systems at scale.

Experience

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, delivering distributed systems in production
  • Proven experience architecting scalable backend systems, APIs, and data platforms
  • Hands-on programming experience in Go, Java, or Python
  • Experience working with distributed systems technologies (e.g., messaging systems, databases, RPC frameworks)
  • Practical experience applying AI/ML techniques, including LLMs, in real-world products
  • Experience leading initiatives end-to-end-from design through deployment and optimization
  • Strong exposure to CI/CD, testing practices, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in global environments
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence

You are someone who

  • Thrives in ambiguous environments and solves complex technical problems
  • Takes ownership and drives ideas into impactful outcomes
  • Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively across teams
  • Balances deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, results-oriented mindset

Nice to have

  • Experience integrating AI into large-scale enterprise platforms
  • Contributions to open-source or engagement in the AI/ML community
  • Full-stack or platform engineering experience

Where you belong

You'll join a high-performing, collaborative team building cutting-edge AI systems with global reach. The culture is high-trust and high-autonomy, where engineers are empowered to take ownership and move quickly without unnecessary bureaucracy.

You'll work closely with product leaders, engineers, and architects to turn bold ideas into scalable solutions. The team values continuous learning, technical excellence, and a shared commitment to innovation.

This is a place where you can:

  • Shape the future of AI within a global enterprise
  • Work on impactful systems used by customers worldwide
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and AI experts
  • Grow your technical and leadership capabilities in a fast-paced environment
