Senior Developer – API Migration (MuleSoft to Apollo Gateway)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Developer to assist in the migration of enterprise APIs from MuleSoft to Apollo Gateway. This role will consist of the design and implementation of a scalable GraphQL federation layer using TypeScript, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy integrations to a modern API platform.

You will work cross-functionally with several teams to modernize API infrastructure, improve performance, and implement best practices for GraphQL based services.

Required Qualifications (Primary, Must have) -

• Knowledge of middleware frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Apollo Gateway and GraphQL federation.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or Node.js.
• Experience designing and implementing REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API orchestration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the end-to-end migration of APIs from MuleSoft to Apollo Gateway.
• Design and implement a federated GraphQL architecture using Apollo Gateway.
• Develop and maintain services using TypeScript.
• Translate existing MuleSoft flows and integrations into GraphQL schemas and resolvers.
• Refine and implement GraphQL standards, governance, and best practices for schema design and federation.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to integrate microservices into the GraphQL layer.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of GraphQL services.
• Implement observability, logging, and monitoring solutions for GraphQL.
• Mentor and guide other developers, conducting code reviews and technical coaching.
• Identify risks and challenges in migration and propose mitigation strategies.
