Job overview and responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Developer to join our team and contribute to the initiatives and implementations. This role requires strong handsu2011on engineering capabilities, a willingness to learn modern design patterns, and the ability to work collaboratively within an Agile team. The Developer will work closely with and receive technical direction from the Senior Developer and play a key role in building and enhancing cloudu2011native applications that support Unitedu2019s technology transformation.

Key responsibilities:
u2022Develop and enhance application components using .net (and related frameworks) and modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).
u2022Work on cloudu2011native development tasks under guidance from Senior Developers and Architects.
u2022Participate in designing scalable, modular, and maintainable systems based on established architecture patterns.
u2022Implement clean, maintainable, and wellu2011tested code aligned with engineering guidelines and best practices.
u2022Assist in ensuring applications meet required non-functional qualities such as performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
u2022Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile Scrum environments to clarify requirements and deliver highu2011quality solutions.
u2022Support integration across backend APIs, databases, and UI components.
u2022Contribute to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
u2022Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions with the team.

Hands-on Technical expertise including:
u2022Backend: Application development using .net & related frameworks.
u2022Frontend: Working knowledge of React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
u2022Database: Experience with PostgreSQL or any RDBMS learning exposure to NoSQL is a plus.
u2022Caching / Messaging: Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, or similar technologies (understanding of at least one).
u2022Cloud: Hands-on development experience on AWS (Lambda/ECS/EKS preferred but may operate under guidance).
u2022Architecture: Ability to implement designs that promote maintainability, performance, security, testability, and scalability.
u2022DevOps: Understanding of CI/CD, automation, and release processes.

Collaboration:
u2022Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to deliver user stories.
u2022Partner with business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers to build functional solutions.
u2022Participate in system troubleshooting and problem resolution activities.
u2022Support the Sr. Developer while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and implement solutions.
u2022Support development work across time zones, including collaboration with teams in Chicago and Houston.

u2022Support Senior Developers during solution design and reviews.
u2022Assist in technical assessments and contribute ideas for improvements.
u2022Provide input on enhancements and application components as part of project lifecycle activities.

u2022Ensure alignment with overall project goals and Unitedu2019s technical direction.
u2022Take ownership of assigned development tasks with increasing independence over time.

Qualifications

Whatu2019s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

u2022Graduate from a reputed engineering college / equivalent
u20226+ years of relevant experience
u20221-2 years experience in cloudu2011native or distributed application development Hands-on Technical expertise
u2022Solid understanding of software engineering principles and development practices
u2022Strong coding and debugging abilities
u2022Experience with REST APIs, backend-to-frontend integrations
u2022Exposure to Agile Scrum
u2022Good understanding of unit testing and basic automation
u2022Ability to work with minimal supervision once tasks are clearly defined
u2022Participation in requirement gathering and analysis, prototyping, deployments and release execution
u2022Effective communication (verbal + written)
