The Designer will be responsible for, detailed design and engineering of high-voltage substation projects, specifically focusing on 400 KV and 765 KV systems, with hands-on experience in both Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS) and Air-Insulated Substations (AIS). This role requires an experienced professional capable of developing comprehensive design solutions that meet technical specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Detailed Design and Engineering:
- Develop detailed designs for high-voltage substations, including 400 KV and 765 KV systems.
- Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using CAD software.
- Design and integrate GIS and AIS technologies into substation layouts.
- Prepare technical specifications and design documents for substation components and systems.
Technical Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design calculations, technical reports, and equipment specifications.
- Ensure all designs and documents comply with industry standards (eg, IEEE, IEC) and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and support procurement processes with detailed technical specifications.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, and mechanical engineers, to ensure cohesive project designs.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with design objectives.
- Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback into final designs.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to ensure high standards of design and engineering.
- Conduct design verification and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of design outputs.
- Perform site visits and inspections to validate designs and resolve any issues during construction and commissioning.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in substation design and engineering technologies.
- Incorporate best practices and innovative solutions into design processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
Experience, Education and other Required:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 10-15 years of experience in drafting works related to substation design and engineering, with a focus on 400 KV and 765 KV systems.
- Hands-on experience with both Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS) and Air-Insulated Substations (AIS).
- Proficiency in using CAD software (eg, AutoCAD, MicroStation) for creating detailed technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of substation design principles, including layout design, equipment selection, and system integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards (eg, IEEE, IEC) and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with digital substations and advanced protection systems.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software and design tools.
