Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Design & System Development:
- Design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and wiring layouts, in accordance with project specifications and requirements.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, and equipment layouts, using design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
- Ensure that all electrical designs comply with local electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with electrical engineers, architects, and other disciplines to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project design.
- Coordinate with other consultants and contractors to ensure that the electrical design is aligned with the overall project goals.
- Participate in design reviews and meetings to discuss technical details, design progress, and any required changes or improvements.
- Specification Development:
- Assist in the preparation of technical specifications for electrical equipment, materials, and installation procedures.
- Review manufacturer data sheets and product specifications to ensure the selected components meet the design requirements.
- Provide input into the selection of equipment, ensuring compliance with project budget, performance, and safety standards.
- Project Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and project reports.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports, outlining project status, design development, and any issues or risks.
- Ensure proper documentation of changes and modifications to the design, and ensure these are communicated to the project team and clients.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Perform quality control checks on electrical design drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure all designs meet safety standards and relevant industry codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
- Participate in site visits to verify installation and ensure that designs are implemented according to specifications.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical design engineering.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost-effective solutions while maintaining high safety and performance standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field.
- Certification or additional training in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on designing electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design tools.
