The Group would like to expand its Retail Footprint and leverage the trust and synergy built over the years in luxury retail by launching a Jewellery Business in India. India's gems and jewellery market contributed around 7% to GDP and 14% to India's total merchandize export in February'21 with a market size was at US$ 78.50 billion in FY21. The jewellery industry in India is largely driven by individual family owned small to medium size businesses. Thus, the Group anticipates that there is scope of development of large retailers / brand in jewellery industry in near future. The venture will benefit from the retail experience, knowhow and trust build over the years with various ABG Luxury Retail Brands. It will also be able to harness the people, technical and operational capabilities from Group's retail arms. The range will be developed as a proof of concept for an integrated offering and may be diversified with multiple brands post establishment of a commercially viable business model.

Given the industry's predominance of small, family-owned businesses, the Group sees potential for developing large-scale jewellery retail brands. The venture will leverage the Group's expertise in luxury retail, operational capabilities, and trust, with plans to diversify the offering once a viable business model is established.
The business has successfully launched 77 stores by Mar 26 under the brand name Indriya with plans to ramp up multiple folds in coming year. The initial customer response has been very encouraging.
Job Responsibilities:
The purpose of the role is to execute the design philosophy in line with the strategic objectives of the brand. To present aesthetically appealing design concepts and collections which translates the brand ethos and provides innovative products in line with trend to the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Strategic alignment with the business vision
- Support in strategizing the new design initiatives for the category (Bridal or Light Weight or High Value) and work towards successful launch.
- Define unique Design stories for the new collections for the category.
- Bring in Innovative approach to design through newer settings/workmanship/look/ stone cuts etc.
- Present aesthetically appealing collection swatches and value added services to help the sales team achieve the monthly budgets.
- Network with new vendors/manufacturing sources/ new technology sources from across globe to bring in expertise.
- Work on External Design collaborations to bring in expertise.
- Adhere to the Design Calendar for the year for the category (Bridal or Light Weight or High Value) – maintaining the required quantity, quality and timelines.
- Assist Design to proto development for new collections/capsules of the category (Bridal or Light Weight or High Value).
- Be updated with evolving Consumer, Market, Product, global & Indian trends (across categories and not just jewellery) to be ahead of the game.
- Work with Design Research to shape key directions for the year and thereby leading the development of powerful Design Stories for collections of the category (Bridal or Light Weight or High Value).

3. An Innovative thinker and an efficient communicator.
4. Ability to collaborate closely with other business teams to deliver value to the Aditya Birla Group.
Person Profile
A successful candidate should have at least 8-10 years of experience in design in the Jewellery industry.
1. A strong background in design in a particular category (Bridal or Light Weight or High Value) in a leading organization.
2. Specifically, the successful candidate should have:
• Exposure to all the aspects and functions of jewellery design.
• Worked in the design function for the specific category (Bridal or Light Weight or High Value) in an organization of similar size and scale.
3. Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Design / degree in design
