Position: Design Engineer – PHE & Fire Fighting
Location: Borivali, Mumbai
Role Overview:
We are looking for a PHE & Fire Fighting Design Engineer who can independently handle end‑to‑end design, calculations, and documentation for plumbing, water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems. The ideal candidate should be technically strong, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a consultancy environment with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and sizing of water supply, drainage, UGT/OHT, STP/ETP, OWC, rainwater harvesting, and pumping systems
- Execute space planning, concept design, schematic design, and detailed engineering for PHE & FF systems.
- Interpret and apply relevant codes such as NBC, IS Codes, NFPA, and other applicable international standards.
- Develop fire hydrant, sprinkler, pump room, and fire suppression layouts
- Perform hydraulic calculations and pump sizing
- Prepare comprehensive Design Basis Reports (DBR).
- Develop and review tender documents, BOQs, and measurement sheets.
- Guide and support draftsmen in preparing drawings across all project stages.
- Review and check PHE, Fire Fighting, and overall MEP coordination drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate effectively with internal MEP teams, drafting teams, architects, structural consultants, clients, and PMCs.
- Review, comment, and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Review, certify, and close handover documentation and as‑built drawings.
- Support site execution teams with design clarifications and revisions
Required Skills & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 2–6 years of experience in PHE & Fire Fighting design (consultancy experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of IS codes, NBC, and fire safety norms
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit knowledge is an added advantage
- Ability to prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and pump schedules
- Strong documentation and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
