Design Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: Design Engineer - Manufacturing

Location:Chakan, Pune

Reporting to:Head Design & Engineering / COO

The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating accurate and production-ready drawings for refrigerated truck bodies, panels, and related assemblies. The role involves close coordination with production, sales, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and delivered on time. The engineer will also contribute to new product development and work alongside German engineering teams on select projects.

1. Production & GA Drawings

Prepare detailedGA drawings, sub-assembly drawings, and shop drawings for day-to-day production.

Ensure drawings are released on time to support uninterrupted manufacturing.

Revise drawings based on production feedback and change requests.

2. BOM & Documentation

Create and maintain accurateBills of Materials (BOMs)aligned with drawings.

Support costing and procurement teams with technical inputs.

Ensure proper version control and documentation discipline.

3. Manufacturing Support

Coordinate with production teams to resolve design-related issues on the shop floor.

Ensure designs followdesign-for-manufacturing (DFM)principles.

Support quality and inspection teams with technical clarifications.

4. New Product Development

Assist in the design and development ofnew products, variants, and prototypes.

Participate in testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities.

Contribute to cost-reduction and standardization initiatives.

5. Global Collaboration

Work on projects involving collaboration withGerman engineering teams.

Interpret and adapt international designs, standards, and best practices to Indian manufacturing conditions.

Support technical discussions, documentation exchange, and design localization.

BE / BTech / Diploma inMechanical Engineering(or related field).

1-4 years of experience in amanufacturing or fabrication environment(freshers with strong fundamentals may also be considered).

Proficiency inAutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor / similar CAD tools.

Strong understanding offabrication, sheet metal, panels, and assemblies.

Working knowledge ofBOMs, drawings standards, and tolerances.

Good communication skills and willingness to work cross-functionally.

Hands-on exposure toreal production engineering, not just desk design.
