Design Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage a team of design engineers across all stages of design — from concept to detailed design and release
• Own end-to-end 3D design and documentation using Solid Edge & AutoCAD
• Drive design of different types washing systems including but not limited to robotic, rotary-indexing, and conveyorized washers, as well as ancillary automation like conveyors, pick-and-place systems, cross-transfer systems, etc
• Lead DAP meetings with customer and interface directly with customers during technical discussions and project reviews
• Collaborate closely with automation, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure design intent is maintained through execution
• Conduct and oversee design reviews, FMEAs, and engineering calculations and selection of all bought-out items
• Design fluid circuits for washing systems
• Ensure designs meet deadlines, customer specifications, safety standards, and internal quality benchmarks
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (M.E. / M.Tech preferred)
• 12+ years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3–5 years in a team lead or managerial role
• Proficiency in Solid Edge for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings
• Strong experience in design of industrial machinery — experience in washing systems, special purpose machines, or automation equipment preferred
• Solid understanding of fluid systems (pneumatics, pumps, filtration, nozzles, blowers, etc.) and mechanical assemblies
• Familiarity with robotic integration in manufacturing systems
• Experience working with automotive OEM customers and understanding of cleanliness standards (granulometry, gravimetry) is a strong advantage
