Job Description
- About Sinclairs
- Sinclairs Hotels & Resorts is one of eastern India's most established hospitality names, operating nine properties across the country's hills, plains and coastline, from Himalayan resorts to a beachfront hotel in the Andamans. We are a listed, debt-free group with a strong cash position, now in an active expansion phase and transforming how we run: our commercial discipline, our people systems and our technology.
The Role
We are bringing design in-house. You will own interior design and architecture across the estate: a new-build destination property on our 22-acre site at Chalsa in the Dooars, refurbishments and new outlets across nine properties, kitchens and back-of-house, and FF&E. You take a space from concept to working drawings to a finished, snagged, opened room, and you manage external consultants where a project needs them.
We are inviting both interior designers/decorators and architects, provided you have real project execution experience: you have drawn it, specified it, stood on site and delivered it.
What You'll Own
- Design language for Sinclairs, rooted in each region, applied to rooms, public areas, F&B outlets, banqueting, spa and exteriors
- - Concepts, mood boards, space plans and 3D visuals; full working drawing sets, finishes schedules, joinery and furniture details, MEP coordination
- - Specifications, BOQs, cost estimates and value engineering
- - Site execution: contractor briefings, shop drawings, mock-ups, quality checks, snagging and handover
- - FF&E design, sampling and sourcing with our Purchase Manager (imported and local carpenter-built)
- - Selecting, briefing and managing external architects and specialist consultants
Hard Skills
- AutoCAD at expert level
- - SketchUp with V-Ray, Enscape or Lumion
- - Photoshop and InDesign; Excel for BOQs and schedules
- - Able to read and coordinate structural and MEP drawings
- - Revit/ArchiCAD, 3ds Max and MS Project are a plus
What We're Looking For
- Degree in architecture or interior design; capability across both disciplines
- - 6+ years, with at least two hospitality projects (hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars) taken from concept to a completed, operating space
- - A portfolio showing concept work and the working drawings behind it
- - Site supervision experience with contractors and fabricators
- - Hands-on FF&E specification and vendor management
- - Willing to travel extensively to properties and sites, including remote hill and island locations
Where This Goes
Founding design seat in a group that is about to build more than it has in decades. Progression to Head of Design & Projects as the pipeline grows.
