Job Description:

Are you a self-starter Do you think different At Microchip Technology, our value system empowers our employees to develop and thrive in a supportive, collaborative, professional, global, and rewarding working environment. We embrace change and continuous improvement, driving both to the mutual benefit of ourselves and our clients. We are looking for like-minded people who can share our passion for success.

As a , you will be responsible for building and leading Microchip's partner program with India's design house ecosystem. India has become one of the world's most significant embedded design centres - a growing network of engineering firms across the country actively developing products and platforms for some of the largest OEMs and Fortune 500 companies worldwide, defining bills of materials and making silicon selection decisions that shape global products.

You will be expected to ensure that Microchip's semiconductor solutions are designed into these products at the earliest possible stage - building a partner ecosystem that creates a sustainable multiplier effect for Microchip's business across worldwide markets. This is not a traditional sales role. It is a strategic program-building mandate that demands equal measures of technical depth, business development acumen, and ecosystem orchestration capability.

When an engineering firm in Bangalore is designing an industrial controller for a European automation company, or a team in Pune is developing a motor drive platform for a North American OEM, or a design house is architecting a communications or power management solution for a global defense program - those are the moments that matter. This role exists to make Microchip the semiconductor partner of choice at exactly these inflection points.

Job Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and own Microchip's India Design House & Partner Program - defining the engagement model, partner selection criteria, co-investment framework, and governance structure - and build a multi-year partner ecosystem strategy aligned to Microchip's India and global growth objectives.
  • Map India's design house ecosystem against Microchip's product and technology portfolio, identifying where the greatest strategic leverage exists across verticals, geographies, and product families - and prioritise program investment accordingly.
  • Establish a differentiated partner enablement framework encompassing access to reference designs, evaluation hardware, FAE support, technical training, and co-development opportunities, calibrated to the strategic importance of each partner relationship.
  • Define, track, and communicate program-level metrics - including influenced pipeline, design win activity, and partner engagement depth - providing regular reporting to Microchip sales leadership and relevant business units.

Partner Recruitment & Relationship Development

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new design house and engineering services partners across India's major design centres, targeting firms active in industrial automation, defense and aerospace, drone and UAV systems, automotive, power electronics, medical devices, and communications verticals.
  • Build and sustain multi-level relationships within partner organisations - from engineering leads and solution architects to business development teams and senior leadership - positioning Microchip as a strategic technology collaborator rather than a transactional component supplier.
  • Develop joint partner business plans with key partners, establishing shared objectives, co-investment commitments, and mutual accountability for design win outcomes.
  • Maintain and deepen existing design house relationships, increasing Microchip's breadth of product family representation and engineering mindshare across the partner base.

Technology Seeding & Design Influence

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between Microchip and its design house partners, driving Microchip silicon selection into designs at the architecture and component selection stage for products destined for worldwide OEM and Fortune 500 programs - ahead of competing technologies.
  • Engage with partner engineering teams at a system architecture level, providing substantive technical guidance across Microchip's MCU, DSC, FPGA, power management, security, connectivity, and timing product portfolio as it applies to partners active design programs.
  • Collaborate with Microchip's FAE teams and business unit application engineers to co-develop partner-relevant reference designs, solution stacks, and technical enablement collateral aligned to the end markets and OEM programs in which design house partners are most active.
  • Lead or co-deliver technical workshops, product roadmap briefings, and hands-on training programs tailored to design house engineering audiences, building sustained Microchip technology preference within partner organisations.

Business Unit Collaboration & Market Intelligence

  • Serve as the principal interface between India's design house ecosystem and Microchip's global business units - providing structured, actionable feedback on partner technology requirements, OEM program trends, competitive dynamics, and unaddressed product gaps.
  • Collaborate actively with Microchip product managers and application teams to align product roadmaps, reference design priorities, and go-to-market initiatives with real-world intelligence gathered through partner engagement.
  • Contribute and participate within a global team environment, coordinating with Microchip's global key account management teams when India-based design firms are developing products for Microchip's global strategic accounts or Fortune 500 customers.
  • Communicate effectively with Microchip product divisions, providing quantifiable feedback and ROI reporting on partner program investment, design win activity, and influenced pipeline.
  • Candidate must be able to independently develop and execute partner business development plans, assess strategic risks and commercial opportunities, take appropriately bold steps, and drive plans through to measurable outcomes.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Job requires extensive travelling within India across all major engineering and design hubs, and outside India for partner engagements, business unit collaboration, and industry events. Candidate must possess a valid passport.
  • Job requires working with design houses and engineering services partners operating across India, and with the global OEM and Fortune 500 programs those partners serve. Candidate is expected to collaborate with Microchip global key account managers, business units, product managers, and other stakeholders in different geographies working on the same global accounts. Openness, sharing, and collaborating are the key virtues of the candidate.
  • Candidate is expected to team up and collaborate with Microchip's FAE teams, peer business development managers, distributors, and design partners to drive key programs and initiatives across the ecosystem. Openness, sharing, and collaborating with end results in mind are the key virtues of the candidate.

Benefits

  • Microchip's non-commissioned total compensation and benefits package includes a competitive base salary, bonus aligned with company goals, employee stock purchase program, health insurance coverage, etc.
  • Opportunity to build and own a high-visibility strategic partner program on an entrepreneurial and collaborative basis - with direct impact on Microchip's market development in one of the world's most consequential embedded design ecosystems - and to be compensated for success in driving the organisation's growth.
  • Access to Microchip's global technical resources, product teams, and business unit networks, enabling the candidate to operate with the full backing of a leading global semiconductor company in building something genuinely new.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or EE or E&C Engineering discipline with a strong academic track record.
  • A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in business management would be desirable.
  • Minimum of eight to twelve years relevant work experience, either in the semiconductor industry in applications engineering, field applications engineering, or technical business development - or directly within a design house, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) firm, engineering research and development organisation, or electronic system integrator in India. Candidates who have built their experience within design houses or engineering services organisations are strongly encouraged to apply first-hand knowledge of how these organisations evaluate semiconductor solutions, structure design programs, and make component selection decisions is highly relevant to this role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing partner, channel, or ecosystem programs - including the establishment of governance frameworks, joint business plans, and outcome-based metrics. Relationship management experience alone, without program structure and accountability, does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Solid technical grounding in embedded system design with demonstrable competence across at least two of the following domains: microcontroller and DSC-based system design FPGA platforms motor control and power electronics embedded connectivity and communications or industrial, defense, and aerospace electronics. The ability to engage credibly with design engineers at a system architecture level - earning technical trust through genuine depth - is essential.
