RRD is looking for a Design Generalist who can deliver high-quality UI/UX design work and take ownership of end-to-end design execution. This is a hands-on design role with leadership responsibility when the lead is unavailable, you'll act as the lead: review work, assign tasks, make design decisions, and manage escalations.
You'll review design requests, estimate efforts, set and own TATs (turnaround times), run client calls, etc. This role demands someone who can think independently, make practical decisions under pressure, and guide others, not someone who needs constant direction.
What You'll Own / Responsibilities
- Review the incoming design requests: assess scope, provide written responses, and define TAT for delivery.
- Estimate effort and define acceptance criteria for each request; communicate timelines transparently to stakeholders.
- Create high-fidelity UI designs and prototypes for web and mobile platforms, maintaining visual consistency and design systems.
- Design and build WordPress sites using themes: configure layouts, customize templates etc.
- Lead client calls to capture requirements, ask relevant questions, and define scope.
- Act as interim lead when the lead is away delegate work, review designs, and mentor the other designers.
- Ensure all designs align with brand standards, accessibility basics, and development feasibility.
- Manage pressure situations such as tight deadlines or escalations with clear communication and quick, quality-driven decisions.
Must-have Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Visual/UI Design with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive web and app interfaces.
- Experience designing and delivering WordPress sites using commercial themes or builders.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc).
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to run requirement discussions.
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to stay composed under tight timelines.
Good-to-have
- Familiarity with Elementor, WPBakery, or similar page builders; Practical knowledge of HTML and CSS (able to edit, troubleshoot, and fine-tune)
- Experience with design systems and accessibility (WCAG basics).
- Knowledge of motion and visual enhancement tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, or 3D applications (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D, Figma 3D plugins) to create modern, market-relevant visuals.
