About the Role
PH1 Industries is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Design Manager to lead and strengthen its engineering design capabilities in the field of Bulk Material Handling and Pneumatic Conveying Systems. The ideal candidate will have strong domain expertise, leadership skills, and a proven track record in designing and validating complex industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering team for execution of projects related to:
- Bulk Material Handling Equipment
- Pneumatic Conveying Systems (Lean & Dense Phase)
- Bulk Loading & Unloading Systems
- Alternate Fuel Feeding Systems
- Dust & Emission Control Systems
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure proper design validation, including:
- Design calculations
- Simulation and performance checks
- Material selection and optimization
- Compliance with international standards and client specifications
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Projects, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Site Execution) for seamless project delivery.
- Drive standardization, value engineering, and cost optimization in design.
- Develop and implement design processes, SOPs, and quality control measures.
- Support proposal and estimation teams with technical inputs and system configurations.
- Handle client interactions for design discussions, clarifications, and approvals.
- Mentor and develop the design team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- 1015+ years of experience in a similar industry.
- Proven expertise in:
- Bulk Material Handling Systems
- Pneumatic Conveying (especially Dense Phase Systems)
- Bulk Loading Systems
- Hands-on experience in design validation and engineering calculations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and industrial practices.
- Experience in leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in design software such as:
- AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Inventor or equivalent
- Strong understanding of:
- Material flow behavior
- Pressure drop calculations
- Airflow dynamics and conveying principles
- Knowledge of FEA/Simulation tools will be an added advantage.
