Design Engineer

Principal Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design textile machinery, components and systems using CAD software

• Develop technical specifications, design calculations and schematics for machinery and related systems

• Conduct feasibility studies and design analysis to ensure machines meet performance requirements

• Coordinate the prototyping and testing of designs to ensure functionality, safety and durability

• Identify and resolve design-related issues during prototype testing and improve design based on feedback

• Work closely with production, manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs

• Coordinate with the R&D team to develop new technology and integrate it into machine designs

• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in textile machinery and incorporate them into designs

• Prepare detailed design reports, user manuals and project documentation

• Maintain accurate records of design iterations and changes to ensure proper project management

• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

• A Master's degree or additional certifications in machine design is a plus

• Proven experience of 4-6+ years as a Design Engineer in textile machinery or industrial machinery manufacturing

• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge or SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 2D/3D modelling and design

• Experience in prototyping, testing and iterating designs

• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical systems

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
