Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Design Engineer for an on-site position located in Chennai Poonamallee, India. The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and refining designs for industrial furnaces and ovens, developing technical drawings using CAD software, and collaborating with internal teams to bring ideas from concept to production. This role also involves analyzing requirements, selecting materials, coordinating with manufacturing teams, and ensuring all designs align with engineering standards and client needs.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing heat treatment furnaces and related systems, along with cost estimation and project support.

Key Responsibilities:

Design of heat treatment furnaces and thermal systems

Preparation of GA drawings, detailed drawings & BOM

Selection of components (heating elements, fans, insulation, etc.)

Cost estimation, costing analysis & techno-commercial support

Coordination with production, purchase and site teams

Continuous improvement in design for energy efficiency and performance

Experience Required:

2 – 10 years (preferably in Heat treatment furnace manufacturing industry)

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermal calculations & furnace design

Experience in cost estimation and project costing

Proficiency in AutoCAD / SolidWorks or similar tools

Problem-solving and analytical skills

Good communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Design Engineering and experience in Product Design
• Background in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering
• Expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and techniques
• Problem-solving skills with a focus on technical optimization and innovation
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards and manufacturing processes is a plus
