Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare 3D/2D assemblies, installation drawings, and sub‑assemblies for vehicle cooling systems.
- Design and integrate sheet‑metal parts, tubing components, and related interfaces.
- Perform top‑down and bottom‑up assembly modeling, skeleton modeling, drafting, and sheet‑metal design.
- Create and maintain BOM structures in CAD and manage design data using PLM/Teamcenter/SAP.
- Apply GD&T principles and ensure part tolerancing compliance as per ASME standards.
- Support DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and DFS activities during the design and development process.
- Understand functional objectives of vehicle subsystems, their interdependencies, and evaluate packaging, serviceability, and cost implications.
- Interpret and understand RFQ, SOR, and TRSO requirements; support creation of source packages and VBOM.
- Achieve daily CAD task delivery targets with high accuracy and quality.
- Execute engineering tasks such as tolerance stack‑up, benchmarking studies, and teardown analysis.
- Follow established methodologies for CATIA/NX model creation and adhere to organization/customer standards.
- Manage customer data, clarify inputs, and ensure high‑quality task execution aligned with customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with local/global stakeholders to solve project‑related issues.
- Collaborate with CAE and Design teams to define problem statements and simulation needs.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to develop flow & thermal analysis requirements for cooling‑related products.
- Interpret and communicate analysis results and provide design recommendations.
- Develop test plans (when required) to validate simulation models and correlate test findings.
- Perform 1D simulations to evaluate vehicle performance, cooling performance, transmission performance, and battery performance - Added Advantage
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualification: BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech – Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
- Experience Range: 4–6 years preferred
- Strong 2D & 3D CAD skills in CATIA / NX (Parametric modeling, assemblies, sheet metal).
- Good understanding of top‑down and bottom‑up assembly, skeleton modeling, and drafting.
- Experience creating BOM structures and working in PLM/Teamcenter/SAP environments.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME part tolerancing standards.
- Understanding of vehicle design fundamentals, including EV architectures.
- Knowledge of cooling system design and integration based on supplier FSS standards.
- Good understanding of powertrain specifications, benchmarking, testing, and competitor analysis.
- Basic knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
- Experience preparing 3D/2D installation drawings for cooling system components.
