Design Engineer

Job Summary

1) Carry out 3-D modeling and drawings of components / assemblies for different products;

2) Convert old 2-D drawings to 3-D models using advance drafting software;

3) Provide drawing updation and revision control;

4) Follow engineering and drafting standard practices;

5) Migrate original Metric revision drawings into NX as per latest drafting practices.

6) Handle ad hoc projects as assigned by the Team Leader/Manager

7) Handle in confidence the drawings and / or trade secret information of products.

8) Support efficiency improvement and establish best practices for modeling and drafting activities within stipulated time-period;

9) Monitor effective use of available resources;

10) Recording and tracking of engineering hours utilized for various projects;

11) Electronic transfer of drawings, documents and data with Global Operations

12) Preparing 3D Catalogue with Drawing Illustration and Bill of Materials

KNOWLEDGE/FORMAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from reputed institution for proficiency in use of specialized 3-D modeling and drafting software.

2. Should have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of work experience of NX8.5 and Teamcenter 10.0 with Engineering Design / Consultancy Company.

3. Working knowledge of computerized drafting and data transmittal

4. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat/PDF is essential

5. Experienced on steam turbine design & drafting will be added advantage

6. Excellent communication and presentation skills

2. Conversant with ASME,ASTM, BPVC and API standrads is desirable
