Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Design Engineer with hands-on experience in the design and development of trailers or commercial vehicle structures. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, sheet metal, and assembly design. The role involves developing robust, manufacturable designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development and engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop trailer structures, components, and assemblies based on project requirements.
- Create accurate 3D models, sheet metal parts, and assembly designs using SolidWorks.
- Prepare and maintain detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings
- Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, quality, and industry standards..
- Review and optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
- Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and design revisions throughout the product development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-8 years of experience in Trailer Design, commercial vehicle, or heavy engineering design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D Modeling, 2D Drawings, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Assembly Design).
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD or DraftSight.
- Understanding of fabrication processes, welding practices, sheet metal design, and manufacturing methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and customer requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in trailer design.
- Familiarity with engineering standards, GD&T, and manufacturing best practices.
- Exposure to product development, prototype validation, and engineering change management will be an added advantage.
