Job Description

  • Develop and design new products for sheet metal and heavy fabrication as per customer requirements.
  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks,SolidEdge, Creo, etc.).
  • Create manufacturing drawings, BOM, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate with production, fabrication, welding, and quality teams for design feasibility.
  • Ensure designs comply with manufacturing standards, tolerances, and safety norms.
  • Support prototype development, trials, and testing.
  • Handle design changes, cost reduction, and value engineering.
  • Coordinate with customers for technical discussions and design approvals.
  • Ensure smooth transition from development to production (NPD Production).
  • Support quality team during inspection, PPAP, and customer audits.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding).
  • Understanding of heavy fabrication structures.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and material selection.
  • 25 years experience in sheet metal / heavy fabrication industry (preferred)
