Design Engineer - Bearing Solutions
Employment Type: Full Time (6 days a week).
Location: Kanpur, India
We are designers and manufacturers of high precision Fluid Film Bearings for use in Turbines, Gearboxes, Compressors and other sophisticated rotating machinery.
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our Product Engineering Team. You will play a key role in designing high-performance bearings and optimizing them for performance and durability. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with CAD/CAM tools, and a deep understanding of material selection and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop bearing components and assemblies for a wide range of applications.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to optimise designs for production efficiency and quality control.
- Prepare 2D/3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, BOMs etc.
- Prepare Route Cards and CNC Machining programs using CAM.
- Document design processes, maintain technical files, and contribute to design standards.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities for product performance and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design of precision mechanical components.
- Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Strong understanding of Tribology and Material Science.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA or similar).
- Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, Powermill or similar).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC Turning, Milling, Drilling etc.
- Ability to work with ERP systems.
Salary: 50-100k/month depending on qualifications, experience and skills.
