Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in HVAC system design for commercial, residential, or data center projects. The candidate will be responsible for load calculations, equipment selection, ducting design, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver code-compliant and efficient designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform HVAC load calculations using standard methods (e.g., ASHRAE guidelines).
- Design air distribution systems including duct sizing and layout.
- Equipment selection (AHU, FCU, VRF, Chillers, Pumps, etc.).
- Preparation of HVAC design drawings (Layouts, Sections, Schematics).
- Static pressure calculation & ESP calculation.
- Preparation of BOQ and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as:
- ASHRAE
- SMACNA
- NFPA
- International Code Council
- Coordination with Electrical, Plumbing & Architectural teams.
- Attend client meetings and resolve technical queries.
- Review shop drawings and provide technical inputs.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles.
- Experience in commercial / residential / data center projects.
- Knowledge of ventilation calculations and fresh air requirements.
- Familiarity with local and international codes.
- Basic understanding of energy efficiency concepts.
Software Skills
- AutoCAD (Mandatory)
- Revit MEP (Preferred)
- HAP / E20 / Trace (Load calculation software preferred)
- MS Excel (Good command)
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of relevant HVAC design experience.
Preferred
- Experience with US Projects.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination.
- Understanding of sustainable design practices.
