Roles & Responsibilities:
- Independently design sheet metal parts and weldment assemblies, including custom refrigerated rack systems with rack structure, component assembly, piping, and control panels.
- Create sheet metal and detailed drawings based on sales orders for refrigeration systems.
- Generate submittal and manufacturing drawings of refrigeration system products in compliance with ANSI and ASTM standards using SolidWorks.
- Follow product engineering processes, re-design old products to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce cost.
- Develop and maintain design FMEA and process FMEA to minimize product launch issues.
- Prove and test designs by fabricating prototypes; perform tolerance stack-up analysis and structural design calculations, including FEA studies.
- Prepare ECNs, submit documentation, and write or present reports for project managers and clients.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders on technical details and project goals.
- Own assigned projects/tasks and resolve product or manufacturing issues individually or as part of a team.
- Drive/participate in DFMEA, DFMA, and design reviews.
- Perform hands-on work on the shop floor as required.
