Job Summary
The Design Engineer - I support the design and development of oil & gas equipment by preparing 3D models and manufacturing drawings under the guidance of senior engineers. The role focuses on learning company standards, engineering processes, and contributing to product design documentation for flow control and pressure-containing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor as per company drafting standards.
- Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, GA drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Support design updates and minor engineering changes under supervision.
- Assist senior engineers in product design tasks for API 6A or 16A or 16C equipment such as valves, manifolds, spools, and flow control systems.
- Perform basic tolerance application and GD&T on drawings.
- Support design documentation for new and existing products.
- Maintain drawing revisions and documentation in Autodesk Vault or PLM system.
- Ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and released per engineering procedures.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- 1- 3 years of experience in mechanical design, drafting, or manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (mandatory).
- Basic understanding of:
- Mechanical drawings and drafting standards
- Manufacturing processes (machining, welding, forging)
- Tolerances and GD&T fundamentals
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to follow engineering instructions and procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
