Design Engineer Jigs, Fixtures

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Design Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in mechanical design, particularly in Jigs & Fixtures, Material Handling Equipment, and fabrication-based products. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SolidWorks, 2D drafting, design calculations, GD&T, tolerances, and mechanical design development.

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Pune with a reputed welding and manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study customer requirements and understand the complete scope of supply.
• Prepare Draft GA (General Arrangement) drawings for customer approval.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks based on load calculations and motion requirements.
• Perform necessary design and load calculations for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Create accurate 2D manufacturing drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, machining symbols, and specifications.
• Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) as required for manufacturing and assembly.
• Work on the design of Jigs, Fixtures, and Material Handling Equipment.
• Perform and understand bearing selection and bearing calculations.
• Understand gearbox calculations, gear ratios, and output speed calculations.
• Ensure designs are suitable for fabrication, machining, assembly, and installation.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and other technical teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Review designs and drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with customer requirements.
