Design Engineer

Responsibilities :

Design and develop plastics trims for global passenger cars. . Perimeters: Bumper, Tailgate, Lighting, Body Claddings, interior trims, I/P, floor console . Interact with client engineers, understand the inputs and execute the designs independently with little supervision. . Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to manage deliverables, participate in design reviews and meetings and achieve program requirements. . Lead a team of 2-3 members for a perimeter/ program. . Good communication skills to discuss with onsite engineers and clients to understand the requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 3-9 years in plastics product design for automotive cars . PD tools: CATIA V5, NX, Teamcenter, Windchill . Strong knowledge of product development cycle (NPD), plastics materials and manufacturing processes. . Good knowledge of plastics design guidelines and tooling fundamentals. . knowledge of automotive safety standards like ECE & FMVSS desirable. . Skills to perform regulatory checks on style surfaces for passenger & pedestrian safety (ECE-26). . Skills on assembly management and OEM drawing creation will be added advantage . Working knowledge with European or American clients with cross cultural sensitivity. . Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and listening.
